Music Timebank

Firstly we need to tell you what MELTS are not. Melts are not a digital currency of any kind. They do not have any equivalent value in pounds and pence.

MELTS stands for Music Economy Local Trade Supplements and is a way of recording transactions between people who choose to trade in the skilled time of individuals involved in the music industry e.g. Record producer with session bass guitarist or promoter with recording engineer.

One hour of one individual's time and their tools is always equal to one hour of another individual's time and tools i.e. true equality.

You decide how much or how little work you do and your are more likely to get more work offers if you have more experience and a good reputation, but this is for you to present. 

Each interested person can have their own website page detailing their skills, preferred fields and methods of working, as well as a bit about themselves and their interests.

A search facility can then be used, so if Music Time Bank members need a specifically skilled person, for example a bass guitarist or professional recording engineer, all they have to do is type in a search for that skill and their preferred genre and they will be presented with a list of Music Time Bank members' sites that can help them.

An e-mail request can then be sent to contact the member they choose. And they can then spend the time in their website account to pay the carefully selected member of their web search for their skilled time after it has been provided.
