As part of Umbrella MELTS activities I have co-ordinated and staged a series of music production workshops with local voluntary sector organisations such as a Young Bristol Action and their Millennium volunteers scheme and with the St Paul's Unlimited partnership and Art Goes Pop. During these workshops I worked in multi cultural environments and geographical areas of deprivation with children and young people aged between 18 and 25 and 8 to 18 years. During these workshops I developed the participants awareness of and enthusiasm for I.T., the music business and music technology and gave some insight and the advice on developing their musical skills further with specific reference to career paths.
